Congratulations! NAP are very happy to present the students that have been awarded with AAA grants for presenting their research in international conferences. AAA supported seven students on their travel expenses. NAP and AAA are proud to present their work.

Rita Dias is a PhD student presenting her research at MESO2015 - The Ninth International Conference on the Mesolithic in Europe, this September in Belgrade, Serbia. Rita will give an oral presentation about “Small vertebrate zooarchaeology of Muge: Preliminary results on subsistence, seasonality and social complexity”.
Lino André is a graduate student presenting his research on Meso2015 - The Ninth International Conference on the Mesolithic in Europe, in Belgrade, Serbia. This September Lino will present a poster about “Visual information in Cabeço da Amoreira, Muge (Portugal): shell adornment technology”.
Roxane is an undergraduate student presenting her research on Anthraco2015 - 6th International Anthracology Meeting, in Freiburg, Germany, this September. Roxane will present a poster: “There is no smoke without fire: charcoal analyses from Animal 1, Cabeço da Amoreira, Muge”.
Pedro is a M.A. student presenting his research this September on On the rocks: 10th International Symposium on Knappable Materials, in Barcelona, Spain. Pedro will present a poster about splintered lithic pieces of the Paleolithic site of Vale Boi (Algarve).
Anne Farias is an undergraduate student presenting her research on On the rocks: 10th International Symposium on Knappable Materials, this September, in Barcelona, Spain. Anne will present a poster about “The role of quality in raw material choice: chert of Central (Estremadura) and Southern (Algarve) Portugal”.
Daniela is a M.A. student presenting her research on JIA 2015 – Young Researchers in Archaeology Meeting, an international conference in Lisbon. This October Daniela will give an oral presentation about the application of GIS on localization of archaeological sites on Serra D’Aire.
Catarina is an undergraduate student presenting her research on On the rocks: 10th International Symposium on Knappable Materials, in Barcelona, Spain. This September, Catarina will present a poster about “Provenence and macroscopic analyses of chert assemblage from Layer D of Lapa do Picareiro”.
So far, research on Archaeology will be taken abroad to Spain, Germany and Serbia by these young investigators from University of Algarve. Soon you will be able to know more about these themes, all the students will present these works in open lectures at the University of Algarve or AAA. AAA is an association formed in 1983 by an international group of residents interested in archeology in the Algarve, it was constituted as a non-profit making charitable institution for the promotion of archeology in Portugal.
NAP (Núcleo de Alunos de Arqueologia e Paleoecologia da Universidade do Algarve) is a student non-profit organization located in the University of Algarve, that is dedicated to the development and divulgation of archaeological research. NAP organizes conferences, workshops and events in order to provide experience and new insights on students’ interests, promoting their academic career and contact with general public.
